Rod Johnson

A lifelong resident of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Area, Rod embraced the opportunity to play
football and run track at Bridgewater College for all four years. He was the captain of the track team his
senior year and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He has a master’s degree in
Financial Management from the University of Maryland University College.
Johnson began his career in banking by rising from a young Commercial Banking Trainee to a Senior Vice
President having worked for three of the top five banks in the U.S. In 2008, he started his own business,
RLJ Financial Consultants, LLC, which provides commercial loan brokering and commercial lines of
insurance throughout the Greater Washington, D.C., area.
As part of his dedication to serving his community, Johnson has served on numerous Boards of Directors
for professional associations and non-profit organizations through the years. He is currently on the
boards of New Endeavors by Women and the Barber Family Foundation. Johnson also teaches financial
literacy classes through his church, and has been a certified personal trainer since 1993. He is a graduate
of Leadership Greater Washington 2011.
He is currently a Lender Relations Specialist/Small Business Development Center Project Manager for
the Small Business Administration. Rod says his job is to open the vault doors of banks for local, growing
and profitable companies.
