National ACE 2025 Conference Brings 700+ Innovators and Stakeholders to NYC
[September 18–19, 2025, New York, NY] — The National Asian Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce (National ACE) hosted its 2025 Annual Conference at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square, bringing together over 700 entrepreneurs, small business owners, corporate leaders, and policymakers from across the nation.
The two-day event was a remarkable success, featuring inspiring plenaries, expert-led breakout sessions, impactful fireside chats, a bustling marketplace expo, and a celebratory Awards Gala honoring trailblazers in the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) business community.
On Friday, September 19, attendees gathered for a powerful Morning Plenary, where they were welcomed by Garrett Gin, Senior Vice President of Local Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Bank of America in Los Angeles, and Chair of the National ACE Board of Directors. In his opening remarks, Gin reflected on the importance of the moment: “When I look around this room, I see leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and allies. I see people who refuse to accept limits and who believe in a future where opportunity isn’t just a word, but a reality for everyone. That is what National ACE stands for—and that is why this conference is so important.”
A special highlight included an introduction of the National ACE Board of Directors and a fashion showcase presented by Walmart, led by Tony Waller, National ACE Board Member and Vice President of Walmart.
The program turned to the future of innovation with an engaging AI Fireside Chat moderated by Susan Jin Davis, featuring Jonathan Sposato of Geekwire, Diane Yu of Tidal Wave, and Sean Singer of Comcast. The panel explored the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence for entrepreneurs and industries alike. Panelists underscored a central theme: “Turn crisis into opportunity. Deliver value. Give back to others.”

Throughout the day, breakout sessions offered deep dives into timely topics critical to small business success. Experts guided workshops on networking and marketing strategies, building long-term financial prosperity, leveraging digital tools, workforce development, and the need for a balanced energy mix, including natural gas and renewables. Leaders from Amazon, Bank of America, Comcast, Google, H&R Block, JPMorgan Chase, PMI USA, PepsiCo, Wells Fargo, and more provided practical tools and insights that participants could take back to their businesses and communities.
The Lunch Plenary featured an impressive lineup of New York officials, including State Senator Stephen Chan, Assemblymember Lester Chang, and New York City Councilmembers Sandra Ung and Susan Zhuang, who underscored their support for AAPI small businesses in the region. National ACE President & CEO Chiling Tong and Board Chair Jimmy Ferguson recognized strategic and corporate partners, while keynote remarks were delivered by The Honorable Don Cravins, Jr., Interim CEO of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).
New York Senator Stephen Chan shared: "It was such an honor to attend the National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship Gala. As I looked out at the accomplished attendees, I realized that our AAPI businesses consistently get the job done."
One of the most memorable sessions of the day was “Global Voices, Bold Journeys: A Fireside Chat with Changemakers,” moderated by former NMSDC CEO Ying McGuire and featuring Helene Yan, Joanne Kwong, and Yue-Sai Kan (pictured above, left to right). Panelists spoke about the realities of mentorship versus sponsorship, the challenges of transitioning careers, and the role of AI in boosting productivity and efficiency. The panelists urged the next generation to “phone a friend, build your network, and don’t overlook the opportunities in legacy small businesses.”
The Awards Gala honored distinguished leaders who have paved the way for AAPI communities. The Gala commenced with a stirring performance of the national anthem by international singer and actress Mary Millben. The Legend Award was presented to Dr. James S. C. Chao, Founder and Chairman of Foremost Group, who captivated the audience with his speech emphasizing public service and the importance of family. The Corporate Champion Award recognized AT&T for its outstanding leadership in multicultural engagement and strategic alliances, with Jason Chan, Chief of Staff to President of the West Region and Director of External Affairs, accepting the award on behalf of the company. The Public Service Award was presented to Congresswoman Grace Meng for her tireless advocacy on behalf of AAPI small businesses.
“National ACE serves as a vital partner and resource, especially for the over 3 million AANHPI-owned businesses across our nation. They have connected thousands of businesses to crucial resources and collected data to better inform federal policy. And those resources are needed now more than ever” said CAPAC Chairwoman Rep. Grace Meng (NY-06). “Over the last few months, small businesses have weathered a landscape of soaring costs and economic uncertainty brought on by sweeping tariffs. That is why I – and the 82 members of CAPAC – support policies that help minority-owned businesses earn and grow capital, promote access to federal contracting opportunities, and advocate for a fairer tax code. AANHPI businesses are a vital part of our economy, and when our businesses thrive, we all win.”

National ACE and Grubhub announced the next round of the Community Fund Grant by the two partners, which will continue providing critical grants to small and independent restaurateurs across the country.
President Trump’s greeting letter highlighted the accomplishments of AAPI entrepreneurs and National ACE: “Since 2012, National ACE has empowered millions of entrepreneurs to grow and thrive in America’s economy. Your work embodies our Nation’s proud tradition of entrepreneurial excellence and helps ensure that our economy remains strong, resilient, and prosperous for decades to come.” The White House greeting letter was presented by Manuel Rosales (U.S. Department of Transportation) at the Awards Gala.
Keynote remarks were delivered by Rick Wade (U.S. Chamber of Commerce), along with special remarks from Commissioner Anna M. Gomez (Federal Communications Commission). U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as Federal Trade Administrator Marc Molinaro offered virtual greetings. Commissioner Gomez shared: “It is so important for us to celebrate the rich cultures of all who contribute to our economy and to our country. As a Commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission, I continue to advocate that it is the agency’s foundational mission to serve all, without discrimination.”
“As you know, bolstering our small businesses and local communities is a top priority for this Administration that values mom and pop shops and the families they support. The future of those neighborhoods starts in this very room, with the economic opportunities created to support American families,” said FTA Administrator Marc Molinaro.
In her closing remarks, Chiling Tong, President & CEO of National ACE, expressed gratitude for the partners and leaders who made the conference possible and looked ahead with excitement: “This conference would not have been possible without the dedication of our corporate partners, affiliate chambers, and our Board of Directors, whose leadership and contributions continue to strengthen our community. Together, we are building pathways for AAPI entrepreneurs to thrive, innovate, and lead. I am thrilled to announce that our 2026 National ACE Annual Conference will take place in Houston, Texas, where we will continue this vital work of convening, connecting, and empowering small businesses nationwide.”
The 2025 National ACE Annual Conference was a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and leadership. By bringing together entrepreneurs, business leaders, policymakers, and allies, National ACE continues to drive economic growth and opportunity for small businesses across the country.
