National ACE Congratulates Dr. Arati Prabhakar on Her Nomination to serve as Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP)

[Washington, D..C. - June 22, 2022] The National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (National ACE) congratulates Dr. Arati Prabhakar on her nomination to serve as Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). National ACE is proud to witness the historic nomination of Dr. Prabhakar—a trailblazer in physics and engineering—who would be the first woman, immigrant, or person of color to serve as Director of the OSTP.

Once confirmed, Dr. Prabhakar will also serve as Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, the President’s Chief Advisor for Science and Technology, a co-chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and a member of the President’s Cabinet. Dr. Prabhakar was previously Senate-confirmed as the first woman to lead the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and also served as Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Dr. Prabhakar is no stranger to making history, and has long been on the forefront of groundbreaking technologies, such as semiconductor technology, infrared imaging, optoelectronics, and nanoelectronics, both in government and Silicon Valley. We are grateful for such outstanding and unprecedented AAPI leadership within the Administration, and are excited for the innovation to come with Dr. Prabhakar’s direction. She is exceptionally qualified to lead the OSTP, and we look forward to her speedy confirmation and transition.
